Online Shopping
The number of visitors to ecommerce sites are increased by 37% last 1999, according to Web-watcher Media Metrix. And those visitors were not just window-shopping. According to the International Data Corporation, they discovered that almost a third had exceeded their yearly expectations. The market is close in doubling in size, year on year. Web merchants garnered between $10 and $13 billion dollars from mid-October to December.
Consumers found that some web merchants couldn't keep their sites running, lost customer orders, or weren't able to process those orders in time. Such problems were the result of a slapdash approach to the system implementation, according to Erica Rugullies, director at ebusiness advisory firm Giga Information Group. Adding that Web merchants who wants to thrive must take a more comprehensive approaching to designing, developing and intergrating their ebusiness environments.
